At NordstrandBlack PC, we are proud to advocate for the people of Santa Barbara both in the courtroom and in our community. One of the ways we support local youth is through the Reach the Summit Scholarship, an annual initiative designed to uplift students who show a commitment to leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving. This year’s applicants went above and beyond, and we are thrilled to share the results of the 2025 competition.
We originally planned to award three scholarships. However, after reviewing the thoughtful and compelling submissions we received, we knew we had to do more. The insight, originality, and dedication demonstrated by these students was too strong to overlook, so we expanded the award to five scholarships of $750 each.

Each of these students presented a unique and well-researched plan for addressing child poverty in Santa Barbara, the focus of this year’s scholarship prompt. Their essays demonstrated not only an understanding of the challenges many children in our community face, but also a belief that strategic and compassionate solutions can make a meaningful difference.
