Doug is admitted to practice law in the State of California, United States District Court, Central District of California , and United States District Court, Southern District of California. He is a member of the State Bar of California, Santa Barbara County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and the William L. Gordon American Inns of Court.
Doug Black grew up in Santa Barbara. After graduating from San Marcos High School in 1975, he became a third generation brick mason. He became a licensed masonry contractor in 1982 and later added a general contracting classification to that license. He continues to hold those licenses.
For over 30 years Doug ran a successful masonry contracting business, Doug Black Masonry. The business was primarily in Santa Barbara County. During that time Doug obtained extensive experience in business, contract formation and negotiation, employee issues and customer satisfaction.
While running his masonry business Doug attended Taft Law School, where he graduated with honors.
Doug is especially proud of his attention to detail and focus on giving each client the personal attention they deserve. His wide breadth of knowledge and life experience give him the unique ability to understand the importance of using the law to help protect the average person from those who are in a position of power and who exploit others.
Doug is a former private pilot, a certified diver, cyclist, marathon runner, triathlete and snowboarder.
