At NordstrandBlack PC, we believe in supporting the next generation of problem solvers and changemakers. That is why we are proud to sponsor the Reach the Summit Scholarship, a contest designed to encourage students across the country to think creatively about local issues and present innovative, community-driven solutions. This year, we were deeply inspired by the thoughtful essays submitted in response to our essay prompt:
“Devise a plan of action and create a proposal to reduce child poverty in Santa Barbara County. The plan/proposal should be targeted at and addressed to an existing government or private entity. It should explain your idea and include a donation request or some other form of support to mitigate child poverty.”
We are thrilled to announce the seven finalists whose submissions rose to the top:
- Adrianne G. – Massachusetts
- Alexis W. – South Carolina
- Daniel H. – Georgia
- Essine Y. – New Jersey
- Hope B. – California
- Lillian R. – New Hampshire
- Nery E. – California
Each of these students impressed us with their critical thinking skills and a sincere commitment to driving meaningful change. Their proposals reflected a deep understanding of the challenges facing children and families in Santa Barbara County and a determination to take action. It is clear that these students are not just thinking about the future; they are ready to start shaping it.
All seven of our finalists deserve recognition for the solutions they propose. NordstrandBlack PC will now begin the difficult task of selecting the three contest winners who will each receive a $750 scholarship to help support their education as they continue their journey toward leadership and advocacy.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to every student who applied. It is truly encouraging to see so many people engaging with an important issue that impacts so many local communities.
